It’s a question that has been on your mind. Go ahead and admit it – it’s okay. I’ve been waiting with bait-like-breath to bring it to you. So without any more bloviating on my part, let’s get down to it.
My thought process
For this very first NBOTW, I really wanted to make Barbara and my readership proud. I had an inkling of a likely candidate, someone who is relatively new to the TM community. I went to his blog to have a closer look, primarily to ensure his blog was in the general range of 4 – 9 months. His blog was young enough so the decision was made. It was an easy one at that.
A word about genre
As much as possible, I want to continue the overall thread of blogs that are positive and have something useful to offer. I’m going to open your horizons a bit with this first blog because his site is primarily about finance and internet entrepreneurship.
Oh no! A blog about how to get rich on the net? George, have ya lost yer freakin’ mind?
Well, maybe I have lost my mind but that’s a whole other blog post. Stick with me here. What I really like about this blog is not only a fresh perspective on the topic, but the Brain Trust behind the blog is a genuine, very real and engaging, wonderfully insightful person.
Here are some excerpts from his blog
“We need to educate the younger generations on racism, so that they do not grow up to be like the people who continuously taunted me. Gladly, North America continues to become more and more diverse. I have friends from many different nationalities — Lebanese, Somalian, Russian, Bosnian, Scottish, and the list goes on” – from: My Experiences with Racism as a Child
“Maybe I just grew up a bit too fast, but the economy has affected me mentally. I can constantly think about it, and hope my family will not be hit hard. I watch many of the teenagers around me continue to spend their parents money like they did before the economy went down – like they don’t care at all. I don’t understand how they can do it, and I feel that these teenagers need to think about their parents a bit more.” - from: Has the Bad Economy Affected You and Your Family?
“I can truthfully say, if I became rich today, I would not change as a person. I would be very, very happy, for the rest of my life, but I would NOT become a bitter, selfish, self-centered person. Why? Because I have experienced the below average life style, and I know what it feels like. Thus, I would not take my wealth/riches for granted.” – from: Does Money Bring Happiness
These excerpts give you just a bit of insight into this special person. The blog is full of such wisdom and helpful articles for anyone, not just those seeking to make their millions on the ‘net.
No more suspense
I won’t make you wait any longer.
The New Blog of the Week is iBlogPlanet.com, owned and operated by Behnam – The GooRoo.
Let’s all give GooRoo a healthy and warm welcome and then go check out his blog.
Oh and while you’re over there marvelling at all the great stuff, marvel at this:

“Biovating”, George? Where on earth did you unearth that treasure?
I don’t know if this blogger’s name is in your post….if it is, I missed it.
But, what stood out to me were his thoughts on fortune. I recently came across this quotation from singer k.d. lang — granted, she’s talking about fame, not fortune, but I think there’s an underlying truth here….
“[The height of my fame was] really exciting but it was a f**k-up too,” says k.d. “You think you have the capacity to deal with it, but nothing prepares you for it. I really thought I didn’t care, that I could be famous and not be altered by it – but you are. You get caught up in it and some of it is real but for the most part, it’s superficial and very fragile or temporary.”
I believe that we don’t know how we’ll deal with anything (fame, fortune, illness, loss, tragedy) until we actually experience it. We can think we know, and we can even hope we’ll deal in a certain way….but I really believe we don’t know for sure until we’re in the situation. There are too many things we don’t know about experiences as broad as “fortune” or “fame” or “loss” — those unknowns affect us in ways we can’t predict.
Thanks for awakening these thoughts in me, George and Mr X!

Hi Laurie,
Yeah, that whole “bloviating” thing. Sometimes I don’t know where my my mind is connecting to…
Behnam – aka GooRoo – really does a remarkable job. I like his style a lot. I’ve much to learn from him, I think.
Cheers
George
George,
I don’t think I can thank you enough. Just when my new blog needed a push, you were there.
This really brought a smile to my face, and has motivated me to work even harder. As a younger-than-average blogger, I sometimes feel hopeless in being heard. It’s individuals like you who I can’t thank enough, simply because you give me a chance to be heard by a larger network. I feel honored to be the first Blog of the Week at Tumblemoose. I owe it to you man!
Btw Laurie, my name is a bit uncommon (in North America at least) which is why you probably missed it.
It’s Behnam, pronounced (Bay-num). Ben is fine though.
Mr. Gooroo,
I’m glad this made your day. You totally deserve it, my friend. You’re fighting the good fight so keep it up. All good things are coming your way.
Cheers
George
Awesome! Thanks for passing along a new blog to check out!

George
Oh George,
You do make me proud. You are carrying the torch with dignity and pride and even if you were bloviating, you’re first pick is marvelous.
I first saw GooRoo here on your blog and just short time ago he came and visited me. Hence, I visited him. I like how that works.
I agree, GooRoo has a great blog and the quotes you extracted from it are proof you have “the touch”.
Congratulations Ben. Enjoy your reign as the New Blog Of The Week. I’ll be seeing you in blogosphere for a long time to come, I’m sure.

Barbara,
Thank you so much. I am tickled that you approve! Really! I’ve already selected next week’s “winner” based on someone I’ve found on your site.
I’m luvin’ how this is all working.
George
