The short answer: Not Much.
I know that bloggers like to reflect on their previous year’s accomplishments and set goals for the next year. Often, these new ideas and goals are proclaimed with much fan-fare and trumpet blowing. I think that is way cool. Done that stuff myself.
For the time being, I don’t plan to change too much around Tumblemoose Ranch. Content will continue to focus on writing, and about the only change to content is to try and include more short fiction posts. The only big change I have planned for the near future is a change in the interior decorating. I use the Headway premium theme and that sucker is going to go away. After a poor “support” experience and overall a cumbersome update process I will be leaving Headway behind and opting for a free theme – lord knows there are enough great ones out there, if anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears.
Personal goals for writing in the next year include revising and polishing Talkeetna Trouble (my nano novel). I’ll also continue to query agents about my picture book, “The Canoe Tree” and in fact I plan on approaching publishers directly about that project. I have a few writings that would work well as novels and I plan to use my nano experience to move those along.
Other than that, I plan to finish a project that ultimately will allow me to help writers become the best they can be. When I’m completely up to speed with that, I’ll let you know.
So in the mean time, Merry Christmas to all my friends. Know that I’m holding warm wishes for a safe and miraculous holiday season.
Catch ya in 2011, if not sooner.

I haven’t even gotten to thinking about next year yet! Too much going on right now for me to really look up, which is a good thing.
Merry Christmas to you, love the Santa hat!

Hi Walker.
yeah, I know I kinda jumped the gun. I figured this might give me license to not pub anything else before year end. Takes some of the pressure off.

I’ve just been drafting one of my end of year posts, George, and have started to think about plans for next year. I had similar experiences with Headway. I’ve found Frugal quite good on my writing blog and am about to upgrade to its successor, Catalyst. WooThemes has some beautiful free themes, if that’s the direction you’re going – I’ve used some in the past and found them very easy.

Sharon,
Thanks for the great suggestions, I’ll be sure and check them out. Interesting that you’ve had similar experiences with Headway. What really bums me out is that a blogging buddy purchased it based on a recommendation from me, then when she updated to WP 3.0.2 it killed her blog. Oy.

You are the just the man I want to talk to… Perhaps we can share “get off Headway” strategies. In the meantime, I love the title of your nano novel and it would be inappropriate for me to stress just how much I adore your nano picture. #swoonyj
You go, George!

Oh, yeah, I’m gonna jettison that thing as soon as I have some free time.
My nano pic? Aww shucks. The kilt makes the man
