An Exhalted New Blog of the Week

janThis New Blog of the Week is long overdue for a little recognition.  I had it in my mind to showcase this a month or so ago but I kinda thought I was hitting too may writing blogs.  It’s now time to let this one shine.

Every once in a while you run across a blog whose comments section is almost more fun to read than the posts!  This is probably the truest example that I have found of that theory.  This blogger has such a loyal following and those folks leave the greatest comments, due I think in no small part to how the blog owner responds and engages his audience.

This blog is not strictly writing.  In fact there is a lot of great life stuff here.  Check out these titles of late:

Twitter lists are meant to be exclusionary

Well, Mr. Brogan, with all due respect that argument is hogwash.

That’s why they’re called list in the first place.  If you include nearly everybody, where’s the value in that?

If indeed one’s feeling hinges on the inclusion or non-inclusion to anybody’s  list then that person needs to be on a therapist’s couch and not on Twitter.  Twitter lists are meant for ordinary people like us to pass on our recommendations based on interests, passions, friendships, and other shared values no matter how banal or weird they maybe.  It’s not meant to stroke someone’s needy, fragile ego.

His style is a hoot.  He pulls no punches, yet he is gentle and responsive.

I love reading his blog and following him on Twitter because I never really know exactly what I’m going to get.

A Nimble New Blog of the Week

I really am a lucky guy.  Ever since Barbara over at Blogging Without a Blog trusted me with the New Blog of The Week, I’ve had the opportunity to view some great sites.  Oh, trust me I’ve viewed a stinker or two as well.  But most are pretty neat.  The latest blog is one I came across while perusing the comment section of a blog.  The name caught my eye.  I thought, “Oh, this looks like fun.”  I think I was right.  This one is a lot of fun.

I’m not going to wax poetic too much because I want you to hurry through my post and go check out her blog.  Look at this list of recent post titles and you will see why I’m so tickled about this blog:

The writing is wonderful.  She writes like she speaks, I’m sure.  She has found her writer’s voice and is putting it out there.

Heal Thyself – New Blog of the Week

micheleI first came across this blogger about a year ago.  Her web site, Writing the Cyber Highway was wonderful.  I was immediately engaged by the writing style and design of her site.  As I spent time reading her posts, her story gradually came out, and what a story it is.  Inspiring, touching, truly amazing.  Her posts there became less frequent and then one day I understood why.   She had launched a new blog in a different niche.

Since then, most of my followings of her have been through her newer site, which I’ve chosen as a most deserved new blog of the week.  Her blog is really a great place to visit.  I literally feel more healthy just by visiting the site.  It is a very busy site with a lot of things going on.   But don’t worry that it’s spammy-busy.  It’s not.  It is just filled with all kinds of great things about being healthy.  And, she does it in a fun way.  She is obviously so enthused and inspired by what she is doing that it becomes contagious.

Here are some excerpts from recent posts:

Raw Juice Girl has been SWAMPED, let me tell you! Packages are arriving fast and furious, like crazy! Don’t get me wrong, I’m tickled pink. In addition to running a huge number of contests, when she whips up a recipe, she takes a lot of great photos to show every step.

Also, there is so much to love about her in addition to her great blog and writing style.  You would be very hard pressed to find a more sincere, loyal, fantabulous ;-) engager in the social media arts.  She leaves great comments and she responds to every commentator on her blog.

Geez, with all that going on, how could this not be the new blog of the week?

A Very Worthy New Blog of the Week

As I was poking around for the New Blog of the Week this time I was a little stumped until I remembered someone who was mentioned over at Blogging Without A Blog.  This blog owner has also been a great commentor at a few sites that I frequent.  Her positive style and wonderful insights touched me and gave me pause.

At first blush, when you visit the site you make think that this site isn’t for everyone.  I know that was my first thought.  But being one of open mind and willing to stretch my boundaries, I spent some time looking around and reading the advice offered.  What I found is that there is indeed loads of great things going on.  I’m glad I went there.

This site is contributed to by two co-editors who have found their niche and found themselves.  They strike a wonderful balance and the result is a sum that is greater than the individual parts.

From the “Our Story” page:

Am I Coming or Going – The New Blog of the Week

This week’s find isn’t a brand spanking new blog, nor is it an oldie.  I tell you what, though.  Whether you are coming or going, this blog is worthy of recognition.  The information that the owner gives us is wonderful and his writing style is just plain entertaining.  Hmmm.  great content delivered with great style?  An unbeatable combination in my book.

I first ran across him through Twitter and after just a few visits to his site I was hooked.  I must admit a bit of bias here because his site does focus on writing.  The tips and posts and links would be helpful for most any writer – novelist, blogger or anyone else who makes a living – or wants to make a living – through the written word.

Check out a few excerpts from his posts:

You have to be prepared to tear apart, discard, rewrite, and rethink much of what you do. This unending belief that your work is not yet good enough, has to have some influence on your thinking. He has a very real world, down to earth approach in his writing and how he presents his information.  That is why his content is so easy to digest.  In addition to his great articles, every week he does a Sunday wash-up  – links to articles from around the net about writing.  The breadth of content is no less than amazing.  I could spend an entire week just clicking through the links.
