Actually I don’t even have a message board. Not one in my office that is. What I do have is a writer’s forum space at I Hate My Message Board, a site that belongs to my good friend Tracy O’Connor. Tracy and I have been putting our little ol’ heads together ever since my post on writer’s forums. In that post I had let folks know that I started a group over at my facebook account. Tracy emailed me and suggested that she had an established forum site and generously offered space there to let the Tumblemoose clan and others hash out writing topics.
So I went there and spent some time kinda lurking around and here’s what I found:
An audience that is active and engaged. Forum members who speak their minds but don’t thrash about and are not into mud slinging.
A week or so back, Tracy and I set up the Writer’s section and started a few threads. Here is what I discovered:
There is a large community of “closet writers” who voiced some clear opinions, fears and successes about their writing. The welcome was warm, genuine and friendly.
So, I was sold. This is exactly the kind of community that I want to be a part of my writing life. There is great opportunity here. Opportunity to continue comment discussions or put out topics that you may not necessarily want to blog about.
Please, consider this an open invitation to head on over and have a look for yourself. I think you’ll like what you see. Join up, start a thread, reply to topics already running full bore.
