A Vandalous New Blog Of The Week

The NBOTW this time is actually an off-shoot of the site owner’s main blog.  I fell in love right away over there.  I mean, how can you not love a self proclaimed “idiot”?  Oh wait, the quote is about a wife proclaiming idiocy.  No matter.  He still just cracks me up with  his fresh and lively content.

On this site, he is a word vandal.  Not too many of those critters around, me thinks.  And with good reason.  When you go aand visit there, you’ll find that Derek waxes poetic about a great variety of topics.  It seems that his primary occupation is to get folks to think – a herculean task these days to be sure.

Here are his postings in January.  Prolific somehow seems inadequate.

So, I think that Derek Haines has a site that is certainly worthy of the NBOTW.  I encourage all of you to skedaddle on over The Word Vandal and have a look-see.  When you’re done there, go over to his main site and get muy entertained.

Heal Thyself – New Blog of the Week

micheleI first came across this blogger about a year ago.  Her web site, Writing the Cyber Highway was wonderful.  I was immediately engaged by the writing style and design of her site.  As I spent time reading her posts, her story gradually came out, and what a story it is.  Inspiring, touching, truly amazing.  Her posts there became less frequent and then one day I understood why.   She had launched a new blog in a different niche.

Since then, most of my followings of her have been through her newer site, which I’ve chosen as a most deserved new blog of the week.  Her blog is really a great place to visit.  I literally feel more healthy just by visiting the site.  It is a very busy site with a lot of things going on.   But don’t worry that it’s spammy-busy.  It’s not.  It is just filled with all kinds of great things about being healthy.  And, she does it in a fun way.  She is obviously so enthused and inspired by what she is doing that it becomes contagious.

Here are some excerpts from recent posts:

Hi, y’all! I do hope you’ve been having a fantabulous Fall so far! It’s been pretty cold and rainy here in Amish country, but we’ve had some beautiful days, too. And the leaves have such vibrant hues—so pretty!

Raw Juice Girl has been SWAMPED, let me tell you! Packages are arriving fast and furious, like crazy! Don’t get me wrong, I’m tickled pink. But it will take me a little time to wade my way through the upcoming reviews. The ones in this post I’m sharing today, are just the most recent arrivals!  from Packages, Samples and Reviews, oh my!

In addition to running a huge number of contests, when she whips up a recipe, she takes a lot of great photos to show every step.

Also, there is so much to love about her in addition to her great blog and writing style.  You would be very hard pressed to find a more sincere, loyal, fantabulous ;-) engager in the social media arts.  She leaves great comments and she responds to every commentator on her blog.

Geez, with all that going on, how could this not be the new blog of the week?

Apocalypse Now – The New Blog of The Week

Ya know, sometimes it’s about the blogger, not necessarily the blog.  As I was spanning the globe looking for this week’s entry into the New Blog of The Week, I came across a tweet that was congratulating one of my favorite tweet peeps on her securing of a pub contract.  I went to her web site, wrote a congratulatory comment and then smacked myself on the forehead.  Duh!  Of course this is an excellent blog for the NBOTW!

I’ve been following her writing adventures for a few months now as she progressed chapter by chapter.  I think what really pushed me over the edge were her podcasts.  Yes the story is great but I dare you to find a more melodious voice out there.  I double-dog dare ya.

As I spent time looking through her archives and just generally poking around the site, it became apparent that there is a wealth of great information for writers, readers and just about everyone else.  As well, the site is clean with no clutter or anything to distract you from your mission of enjoying a site with great reads.

What permeates all of the posts and articles is a strong sense of honesty and genuine-ism.  It’s great.  It’s just like an expanded version of following her on Twitter – it’s just that you get so much more than 140 characters.
