Through the newsletter sent to me by Mark Coker over at Smashwords, I learned that March 7 – 13 is Read an E-Book Week. Awesome! There are so many ways to read e-books. If you have a computer, you can participate. Head on over to ebookweek.com and have a look at all of the resources to help you in this worthwhile venture.
You may feel like you’re cheating on your paper books, but Ms. E is a worthy mistress/temptress.
I’ll bet your paper books will forgive this one little indiscretion.
Be sure and let us know about your experience this week!

Hi George,
Hey, I didn’t know about Read-a-Book Week before today. This is great!
There are so many good ones I could suggest, but the most recent ebook I read was “Stroke of Insight” by Jill Bolte Taylor. It was a great read!
Thanks for promoting this, George. I love reading ebooks as much as paper books. I just wish I had more time.
P.S. For those reading the comments here, I’d highly recommend George’s ebook called “The Writing Experience”. It’s wonderful!

Hey Lori,
Thanks for coming by. I appreciate the plug for The Writing Experience as well. I’m really getting great feedback about the book.
Cheers!
George
this is awesome!
I actually read the title wrong at first, and thought it said “Read An E-book A Week” – which would also be great! But thanks for sharing this George! Now I have yet another reason to cuddle up with my iPod and read!
i’m heading right over to ebookweek…… NOW!

Thanks for highlighting this, George! It’s a great way to promote ebooks and pick up a few titles at bargain prices (some even for free!)

Hey Laura.
You bet! Also, you never know what you’re to find.

Who knew…they got a week for everything. Thanks to your tip about how I can read Kindle books on my PC I headed over to Amazon and got a copy of Sherlock Holmes for free. Every once in a while I like to read a classic, except with this one I keep picturing Robert Downy Jr in the lead role!
Cheers,
Matt

Do your community a favor and instead of an e-book, go to your local independent bookstore and buy a book.
Wow Joyce, that’s a pretty snarky and uninformed comment. How do you know how many people shop at indies? I know a lot of the readership here does, as do I. Are you saying there is not room for both? If so you are living in a sad, sad cave. I love books and have quite a collection as most serious readers do. With that said, I can read the writing on the wall and I am willing to embrace the direction rather than whine about it.
As well, ebooks have allowed authors to operate on an “indie” basis and get published. This was unheard of even twenty years ago. So, are you saying that indie is only good for book stores?
