One of my most fav people is Judy from Zebra Sounds. You may remember that I featured her site in a New Blog of the Week. She posted a life list last week and encouraged others to do the same. Normally I shy away from these kinds of lists ’cause I kinda suck at putting them together. I took the time to think about it this time and decided to do it.
So, here it is. In no particular order, heck, I haven’t even counted them.

I reserve the right to add or delete from this list as the whims strike me.

Hey, George,
Great list. I’m inspired by many items.
The cruise ship? Not so much. I can’t imagine spending a week sharing a dinner table with a used car dealer from Pinpoint, Iowa. Then, there’s that cruise ship plague that seems to hit a few cruisers each season.
The piece? Good fun. Hope you scratch a couple off in the upcoming year.
Thanks, George.
Hey Paul,
Happy new year. I was thinking it would be fun to hang out with some older folk, kick a little butt at shuffleboard, you know, that kind of stuff.
Cheers!

I desperately wanted to be able to leave comment saying I’d done one of those things, but sadly I can’t. Nice list though. Gotta aim high, always aim high. It’s a personal motto of mine. Sort of.

Hi Iain,
First, Congrats on the one year anniversary of your blog. It truly is a big deal.
These are over the top – well, most of them anyway – but I figured, if I was going to put together a list, I’d like to include most anything if time or money was no issue. There’s probably a few other things to add, but heck, this blog is viewable by the general public. hehe.
George
George,
First off happy New Year. Hope 2010 is really great for you.
Now on to the list. What can I say – I loved it. I would love to do most of those things myself, especially living by the Sea somewhere hot and I don’t think anywhere in Ireland will fit that. Love the idea of writing in a log cabin for a year, visiting all the amusement parks of course I would have to take my own children but I love the fact that your life revolves around and includes Maddy. I like the idea of the list but I don’t know if I would be able to stop once I started. Thanks for the start though.
Amanda
Hi Amanda. So nice to see you. I hope that the new year for you and your family is the best ever.
Since my whole revolves around that kid, I figured I’d be remiss in my duties if I didn’t include at least a couple that featured her!
Cheers
George
I LOVE your list! I love how exuberant and go-for-it it is. Like instead of my boring “published novelist” you’ve got “NYT bestseller.” You’re so awesome. Let’s camp in the dessert. Wait, no, let’s visit the libraries of Europe. Okay, no, let’s write a screenplay together, swim with dolphins, scale the Hollywood sign!
Oh. Right. This is your list. You know how I get carried away.

Hi Judy!
Oh, I didn’t think your list was boring at all. In fact it was great incentive to put this together.
My list, schmy list. There’s always room for one more!
George
Wow…. That’s some really cool stuff, George! Can’t wait ’till it all happens and you blog about it.
Happy New Year!!!
.-= Michele´s last blog ..Putting a Face On Homelessness =-.
Happy new year to you, Michele.
I better get crackin’! It’s a big list and I need to start planning.
Cheers
George
Hi George!
Nice Bucket List!
I’ve done 3 of the things on your list:
Seen Stonehenge in the late 60s.
Visited Cuba as a kid. Does touring a cigar plant count, since I don’t smoke!
Took singing lessons and went on to win several gold medals in High School solo contests.
Might I suggest an additional one for your (mine and everyone’s) list:
To love myself more.
Let us all know as you tick off each Life List item accomplished, George!
Good Luck!

Wayne,
That’s rockin’! Yes a Cuba cigar factory certainly counts! Now I have to admit to landing a MD-11, but it was in the FedEx Simulator (Exactly like the real thing) and I made three successful – if not bone-jarring – landings!
I’m working on figuring out my fav short story of yours and I’ll let you know asap.
Happy New Year to you, friend and I’ll add your suggestion to my life list.
George
Live in London for a year is something on my list.
I’ll have to think about my list. Though submitting work AND getting it published would be there.
So here’s to this new year with the firm belief that every one of us gets to check off as many items on our lists as possible!
Cheers,
Marisa
Hey Marisa,
Cheers. Here’s to a great new year and lots of list checking!
George
Hi George!
Congrats on assembling this list. I’m amazed by the well-roundness of your desires and also how many of these I’d love to experience, too.
BTW: I could totally see you as a bantering radio show host, somehow. And, ahhhh, a winter writing in a remote cabin – that just sound juicy and dreamy as all get out!
Thanks for sharing your list with us, George, it really says a lot about you! I love it.
