Hey, Tumblemoose Writing Services is one year old today! It is such an awesome event that they’ve declared a national holiday! Oh sure, the papers are going to call it something like “Labor Day” but we know the real story, right?
Yep. September 7 last year I kicked off this strange and wonderful trip with a post called Textbroker really rocks. Since then, I’ve never looked back. OK, that’s not entirely true. I’ve looked back a few times and thought, “What in the world was I thinking?”
It’s been a glorious trip thus far and I’m certainly thankful for those faithful folks who keep coming back, inspiring me to stay the course. I know a lot of blogs do not make it this far. For funsies, here are some first year stats:
- First “real” comment: Matt from Small Biz Bee on my post How to Break the Idea Barrier Matt is still around and is still one of my favorite people.
- Unique Visitors: 74,101
- Comments: 2,418 – includes my reply to most
- Posts: 163
- Current Alexa Rank: 182,122
- Loyalty of my community: Too large to calculate.
And there we have it folks. I’m really looking forward to this next year and what it will bring.
Cheers!

Happy Birthday George! Looking forward to another year of being part of this wonderful community. Keep up the great work.

Happy birthday Tumblemoose Writing Services. Congratulations, George.
Three months from now, I’d celebrate my one year, too. I just hope my government will declare it a national holiday, too. Is wearing a kilt in any a factor in this good fortune you have? If it is so then I still have time to strut my stuff huh? Psst – I’d love have a huge pic on the side of a tall building, too.

What can I say except, “Woo-Hoo!”
Hmm. When the heck is my blogging birthday? I guess that depends on which incarnation we’re talking about, but the current one goes back to September 1, 2007. Hey, our blogs are both Virgos!

Happy First Birthday, Tumblemoose!
I can only imagine that passionate night of your conception one dark and stormy night a year ago.
There he was, your pappa, all worked up by the Homer Muse, out behind the fish-gutting plant where they worked. He, a dashing Scotsman. She, a blogsmackin’ baby Lolita in a tie-dye T-shirt and low-slung jeans.
And then that climactic moment. That explosion!
Your daddy cried out “Tumblemoose!” and she gave him kind of a wierd sideways look as their X’s and Y’s merged in holy verbosity. It must have been quite a sight. Down by the chum barrels on that Homerian dockside.
But here you are, you one-year old beauty, full of mischief and fun!
And there’s your daddy, worried already about you meeting some guy just like him.
And I see your mother, rising on transparent wings above the shoddy Alaskan blogging district, with another big smile on her face, a cigarette in her pouting lips, saying something like “I’ll be back in a year from now, you big blogging buck!”
And that’s the other side of the story ….
Cheers!

George, you always either crack me up or inspire me (or both). This one was both. Loved the celebratory mood of this post.
And, if I’m not mistaken, our new fearless leader is the one and only TUMBLEMOOSE. A military parade in your honor and all. Well done. You’ve already conquered the world with your blog! And in a kilt, no less. I’d say that calls for expensive champagne.
(Great Photoshopping there, with the leg behind the tree ;~)
Congrats on one year. Keep it going and I hope to be around to see you reach 2 years.

Hey George, happy (belated) b-day! I was wondering why the banks were all closed, and businesses were closed on Monday…now I get it.
