I usually call myself a writer. I recently took off the word freelance. I would like the title of Author, but I am told that in the writing world a poetry book just doesn't make the list of publications that qualify for the title of Author. I think it’s interesting that while I hesitate to tell people I’m a writer (even tho’ I’ve finished 3 novels, am published and placed on 2 short story sites and have TONS more coming!!), my husband brags about it.

I think author = published and I hope I will be able to call myself that soon.
