Acobox review

I reviewed acobox as an assignment from Textbroker

Take it for what it is…

There are some things I like about this service and some things I’m less than happy about.

On the good side, the site is well designed and simple.  There is not a lot of distracting clutter and the navigation is simple.  The images are of good quality and the selection is adequate, although a bit thin.  Sign up didn’t take very long and the registration process was simple.  I received my email password within a minute and was able to get started right away.

I logged in, selected an image and clicked on a button below the image in order to put it on my clipboard and then insert it into one of my posts at tumblemoose.com.  When I was in my post, I hit Control-v and nothing happened.  I went back to acobox and that is when I saw the little note: “Buttons support Internet Explorer only”  Without a doubt this is my biggest gripe with the service. Who uses IE any more?  My web stats indicate a full 80% of my visitors are using Firefox.  Once this site upgrades and supports other browsers, I think that there is some value here, but until that happens I won’t be using much of the service.

I was able to ultimately put the image in my post, but I had to right click and copy image location, then use the WordPress interface to add an image, which really detracts from the whole purpose of the site.  I can obtain images anywhere, it should be the unique method that draws me in.

Overall, I believe this site is a great concept.  I look forward to perhaps using it in the future.

Hi George, we resolved FireFox problem finally. Now you can get image code with FireFox. Enjoy it!
