As I was poking around for the New Blog of the Week this time I was a little stumped until I remembered someone who was mentioned over at Blogging Without A Blog. This blog owner has also been a great commentor at a few sites that I frequent. Her positive style and wonderful insights touched me and gave me pause.
At first blush, when you visit the site you make think that this site isn’t for everyone. I know that was my first thought. But being one of open mind and willing to stretch my boundaries, I spent some time looking around and reading the advice offered. What I found is that there is indeed loads of great things going on. I’m glad I went there.
This site is contributed to by two co-editors who have found their niche and found themselves. They strike a wonderful balance and the result is a sum that is greater than the individual parts.
From the “Our Story” page:
“Why are we doing this?
Because we are passionate about the topic, ‘LIFE’ and about ensuring that our indigenous power is returned to the ‘ME’ in all of us.
Both Ann-Marie and I want a life that we can be proud of, one that we really enjoy. Yet we have noticed that living this way is not that easy. Fancy that!
It is not that we don’t have the information; we actually know a lot, we both have impressive book cases and corporate experiences to prove it!
However when we met, we were NOT the grounded, savvy women our book cases would have you believe we were.
We were NOT confidently using our indigenous female power to plow through life, having it happen the way we would like it to.”
That’s a pretty remarkable genesis.
These are some pretty remarkable women.
I’d like to introduce the New Blog of the week:
Wilma and Ann-Marie have put together a kind of learning sanctuary and they’ve done a fantastic job.
I encourage everyone to go and have a visit. I think you will be impressed.

I clicked over and am poking around. I love the post on making requests, that’s such a landmine, isn’t it?
Thanks George for another great blog of the week!
Tracy´s last blog ..Groups I’m totally going to add to Facebook
Hi Tracy,
Yeah, there’s lots of great stuff over there. I thoroughly enjoyed cruising the site.
Cheers!
George
Hi Tracy, thank you for trusting George’s recommendation and to come and visit Ann-Marie’s and my blog AND leaving a comment. And you are spot on, making requests is indeed a landmine that blows up nearly all the time. However I am cracking the defusing one step at the time and I hope it will have the same effect for you after your visit.

Thanks Michele.
It’s great to see the self reflection an the actions they are taking based on those.
Cheers
George
You’re welcome! Yep, it is great to see – I’m checking ‘em out now!!!

Hi Michele, wonderful to hear you too are taking a chance and checking us out. Actions are the only thing that will set life into motion and you will never know where they lead you.
I am sure your visit will get you to at least observe yourself and if you have a book case too, it might get you to check where all that knowledge has taken you and if that is as far as you would have liked it to go.
And raw juice sounds real good too, we have a veggie garden that I could juice up. So being true to my word, I am going to action a visit too.

Oh, I totally believe in action, Wilma. I’m a survivor of domestic violence, and have lost over 100 pounds and battled much, much illness. My actions to leave an abusive relationship and choose life over death (in every sense of the word) have brought me to where I am today.
And… raw juices are fantabulous!
*smiles*

Hey George, you are amazing how you describe what Ann-Marie and I are on about and to pull that revealing passage out of all the information that is on our site. Thank you so much for stretching your boundaries, for not running away and then taking the time to find and then so succinctly share the gist of our blog.
We focus on women because we understand women the best, however we all have indigenous power and on the blog we speak to everybody who is enquiring about life and is looking if there are ways to do life differently and THAT is never gender specific.
We are aware that we are all in this together and it is only by encouraging each other that we will bring about change; hence we developed the Women Like Me site and the blog is to share what we intent so women can join us in our collective quest.
George, thank you so much for hearing our message so well, that always warms Ann-Marie’s and my heart. May your life be as the books in your bookcases indicate how it can be, love from Wilma and Ann-Marie.

Hello there George.
What a way to start the day here in NZ; to hear someone else’s perspective on what we’re up to at WomenLikeMe and you got it down pat. George, thank you so much for sharing our message, it’s much appreciated.
Hugs to you
Ann-Marie

Hi Ann-Marie,
Hugs right back at ya. It’s great to see the chemistry between you two. Taking on the world is easier when you’ve got someone along for the ride!
George
Wilma,
I am so happy to do this. You folks have got something special going on and folks deserve to have a look.
Your kind words are taken to heart, and I’m excited to see where this journey will lead you.
George
Hi George,
I’m so happy you’ve showcased this blog. Wilma and Ann-Marie have created a fabulous site that really gets us thinking. I love how they address issues many other bloggers don’t and when they share how they feel, you can’t help but put in your two cents, as well.
@Wilma and Ann-Marie.
Congratulations on being named the New Blog of the Week. You truly deserve this honor and all of the kudos that go along with it. You girls rock!
P.S. Ask George where your tiaras are? Hopefully they’re in the mail.
Enjoy your reign!
