A New Home for the New Blog of the Week

torchLast week, Barbara Swafford from Blogging Without  a Blog announced she would be looking to pass the torch on for her wildly popular and successful ongoing series, New Blog of the Week.  I love Barbara’s site and that segment of her blog in particular.  I of course let her know that I would be interested in stepping up and moving this worthwhile blog series over to Tumblemoose.

A few emails and a DM or two later and we were set.

I really believe in this.  Folks in the first few months of their blogging career are often discouraged, believing they may never get seen in a jam packed universe of blogs.  There are plenty of good blogs out there, and they are not necessarily all of the old salty dogs we’ve come to think of as the A-listers.

My first entry for new blog of the week will be posted a little later this week so keep an eye out for it.

And thank you, Barbara.  I hope I’ll do you proud.

By the way, a quick tip for a great article I found.  Go check out this list of 100 Essential Tips and Tools for Writers.

I can’t tell you how much I’ve appreciated your support as a new blogger this last seven months or so. I can’t think of anyone better to take on this mantle. Good stuff.

Very cool — I look forward to seeing what treasures you dig up. Are there particular types of blogs you’re focusing on, or is it just any good blog? I haven’t been following Swafford long enough to get a feel for who she highlights.

I recently discovered “My Super Charged Life” — it’s not about writing, but boy is it a good blog. It’s exactly what I want “Quips & Tips for Achieving Your Goals” to be when it grows up! Well not exactly because Quips & Tips has to be its own self…but close :-)

    Hello there, Laurie.

I’m going to try and stick to positive/self development/life tips/writing kind of blogs. With that said, there’s nothing that is really out of bounds. If it’s a great blog on Dung Beetles it might make the cut!

I’ll check out “My Super Charged Life”. Now you’ve got my curiosity!

    Thank you very much George,

As you know, I didn’t want the New Blog Of The Week series to die, so I am thrilled you’ve picked up the torch. I know you’ll do fantastic.

I’m just an email or Tweet away and am behind you all the way.

P.S. I’ll be adding a link to your site on my blog so my readers know where to come to find the series.

    Thanks again, George. You rock!

George, How “new” does a candiadate have to be?

If I come across a suitable candiate I will pop the URL over to you.

Oh! Just a thought, Shack’s C&G is less than a year old and if you strip of the posts pre swap to the WordPress site. Then when you relook at it, then it is actually very young. (Cheeky Grin)

      Hey Andy,

You are a cheeky little monkey then, aren’t you? Hehe.

In the most general terms, I’m looking for blogs that are 4 – 7 months along, but that is not a hard and fast rule.

Of course I’d love for the readership here at TM to send me any URL’s they believe would make a good candidate.

      Cheers
