  1. Congrats! Wonderful numbers there! Woot!

You’re right, if you follow their simple guidelines for your .doc they do all the other work for you. And they seem to be picking up new partnerships every week lately too.

    • Hi Laura,

I love ‘em because they are easy to work with and there is not a lot of monkey business. The last update I got from Mark Coker (owner) had lots of info about their new partnerships.

  2. Congratulations!! I’m impressed and will head over to take a look.
Question what is the little “tell Everyone” widget at the end of your post? I’ve yet to figure out how to add a stumbleupon on my various blogs, especially the wordpress.com blogs.

    • Heya Walker.

I believe that is generated through the “Share This” Plugin. In terms of stumble, you can d/l a plugin that will put that on your posts, I think there is also the stumble toolbar which I’ve found to be of huge value.

  3. Go, Moose!! 1,000. Wow, that’s impressive.

Also inspirational. I use eJunkie but so far it hasn’t driven any extra traffic to my ebook. The sales I make all come from visitors to my own site. Maybe I should look into that (she says, bookmarking as she types).

    Thanks! ~ Milli

    • Milli!

So great to have you drop by. I’ve been amazed as I’ve watched the numbers inch up. Smashwords has worked really hard on making their catalog available through a bunch of venues. I’d be interested to hear what you think after you have a look.

    • Hi there Carrie,

They really are worth having a look at. I’ve been nothing but pleased. I also think it’s a perfect venue for a short story series.

  4. Congrats on your award. It seems like you are doing quite well, I’m happy for you. I guess it’s a good thing that you got out before the real melt down. I really miss your mom and Maddy, but after everything that has happened and all of the time that has slipped by I’m not quite sure how to reconnect. I truly hope that you are happy and have found whatever you’ve been looking for. I’ve always thought of you as someone that I could look up to and trust no matter what. I just wanted you to know that. You are a good person and I wish nothing but the best for you, Maddy and your mom. I hope that she is doing well. If you feel that it’s appropriate please tell them hello for me. Best wishes always.

  5. Hi George,

This post is PERFECTLY timed. I just finished my post on turning blogs into books plus self publishing and included you and Smashwords. When I was grabbing your link I saw this post. :) I’m happy to hear you’re still enjoying your relationship with Smashwords and have passed the grand mark. That’s awesome!

    And so are you….

    Congratulations!

Thanks Barbara. That means so much. I’m not sure you know this, but you are a mentor of mine. I look to you for how to keep a community and for being gracious in all things. I’m glad the timing was spot on for this.

    • Hi Lillie,

Mine too! I’m okay with it because I figure it is getting my name out into the world and at this point, that’s good enough for me.
