On several occasions I’ve posted about my love for Smashwords.com I’ve several E-books published over there and just this last week, one of them topped the 1000 downloads mark. The others that I have there are doing pretty well, too and overall Smashwords has exposed me to about 3000 folks who have downloaded one E-book or another of mine. Heck, the last time I was exposed to 3000 folks I got a public indecency charge. (pending)
If you have an E-book and you’ve been wondering where to publish the thing, look no further. Seriously, Smashwords is the way to go. Do you have a collection of short stories or flash fiction that you’ve been waiting to publish? Get off your duff and get on over to Smashwords. The sign up is free. The process is straightforward and easy as pie.
Take my word for it, just this once. This Saturday afternoon, you could be emailing all your buddies about having your E-Book published.

Congrats! Wonderful numbers there! Woot!
You’re right, if you follow their simple guidelines for your .doc they do all the other work for you. And they seem to be picking up new partnerships every week lately too.
Laura Eno´s last [type] ..New Book and a Giveaway!
Hi Laura,
I love ‘em because they are easy to work with and there is not a lot of monkey business. The last update I got from Mark Coker (owner) had lots of info about their new partnerships.

Congratulations!! I’m impressed and will head over to take a look.
Question what is the little “tell Everyone” widget at the end of your post? I’ve yet to figure out how to add a stumbleupon on my various blogs, especially the wordpress.com blogs.
Walker´s last [type] ..Wednesday Words
Heya Walker.
I believe that is generated through the “Share This” Plugin. In terms of stumble, you can d/l a plugin that will put that on your posts, I think there is also the stumble toolbar which I’ve found to be of huge value.

This is great, George!
Ha ha, you have me in stitches again (indecency charge, he he).
I’m very pleased to see you’ve experienced such traffic. As owner of your “schtuff” myself, I can see why you’re succeeding. Keep up the great work, matey.

Lori,
Hey snookums, I snuck that one in just for your benefit.
Thanks, as always, for your kind words of support!

Go, Moose!! 1,000. Wow, that’s impressive.
Also inspirational. I use eJunkie but so far it hasn’t driven any extra traffic to my ebook. The sales I make all come from visitors to my own site. Maybe I should look into that (she says, bookmarking as she types).
Thanks! ~ Milli
Milli!
So great to have you drop by. I’ve been amazed as I’ve watched the numbers inch up. Smashwords has worked really hard on making their catalog available through a bunch of venues. I’d be interested to hear what you think after you have a look.
George
Hey, that’s wonderful! I’ll have to go over and check out your work. I’m working on a short story series that I may put on there. Eventually.

Hi there Carrie,
They really are worth having a look at. I’ve been nothing but pleased. I also think it’s a perfect venue for a short story series.

Congrats on your award. It seems like you are doing quite well, I’m happy for you. I guess it’s a good thing that you got out before the real melt down. I really miss your mom and Maddy, but after everything that has happened and all of the time that has slipped by I’m not quite sure how to reconnect. I truly hope that you are happy and have found whatever you’ve been looking for. I’ve always thought of you as someone that I could look up to and trust no matter what. I just wanted you to know that. You are a good person and I wish nothing but the best for you, Maddy and your mom. I hope that she is doing well. If you feel that it’s appropriate please tell them hello for me. Best wishes always.
Hi George,
This post is PERFECTLY timed. I just finished my post on turning blogs into books plus self publishing and included you and Smashwords. When I was grabbing your link I saw this post.
I’m happy to hear you’re still enjoying your relationship with Smashwords and have passed the grand mark. That’s awesome!
And so are you….
Congratulations!

Yay!
Thanks Barbara. That means so much. I’m not sure you know this, but you are a mentor of mine. I look to you for how to keep a community and for being gracious in all things. I’m glad the timing was spot on for this.

George,
Congratulations on the great number of downloads. The only e-book of mine at Smashwords that has topped 1000 downloads is the free one. But I’m glad people are reading it!

Hi Lillie,
Mine too! I’m okay with it because I figure it is getting my name out into the world and at this point, that’s good enough for me.
